Virgin life

The Virgin Lover started our interesting and then died down and became slow. Romance is a part of life and people like romance, to see kings and queens be "bad" like other normal people is kinda a peeling. Interesting to see that i didn't picture a queen, i just pictured someone who fell in love. Gossipy is definitely in the world of royality not just regular people. Taking a virgin and putting her into a romance novel, makes people wonder and ask questions. People in power have to be a role model and responsibilities, virgin is a choice in Queen Elizabeth life. In order for Quuen Elizabrth to gain power or control she feels like she has to flirt because she is a woman, that is the only card she has. I feel like that's not just with the role of royality I feel like that is normal for woman around the world.  It's more sexy when talking about someone with power and being a woman. Men aren't talked about much when it comes to being "sexy". Calling yourself a virgin but not actually being one?? Idea of there dirty or virgin. Uses the sexuality to get what she wants, and it worked. Romance novels written about Queen Elizabeth. Person in power, taking a lot of time and thinking about their sex life. She became famous because her parents had sex and she didn't and she knows how to work the system. Smart woman always make it far in life.

Queen Elizabeth

As a young girl I always dressed up like a princess and dreamed of becoming one. I think most little girls play dress up, and want to be a princess. Unlike Elizabeth who became a real queen, we did not dress anything alike. She had to wear dresses that made her arms look bigger than her body. She never aged in the photographs. She was a girl who was well liked and got a lot done. At the age 13 she looked like she already had so much power and her years of being in royalty had just started. None of us of today could say that was us when we were young. I barely knew what power was. They only person who told me what to do were my parents. Those are the two people who had power over me. Guess you could look at it as king and queen and I was their little princess, who had two other sisters. To grow up and not actually be able to live life the way you and I have, I couldn't imagine. Having so much responsibility and power held by one person. Having someone tell you who you should married and how it should be done seems different and not something I would like. Wearing fancy dresses and going to fancy parties, just to put on an act, fun but not so much.

In the movie Elizabeth showed to be a happy girl who got to experience a little of life, unlike her sister Mary. She was in the field skipping around with her friends, while Mary is unhappy with her life, she went from having everything to nothing when becoming queen. She had to grow up and Practice her speech over and over again, like we do sports or other things we want to be good at. Elizabeth gains power, the minute she speaks the crowd stops talking, although she isn't doing well because the crowd isn't happy. She goes from a happy girl to not so confident when she is on the thrown talking to the crowd. Somehow though she gets better and becomes a very good queen.

Rome

I have to say when Dr.MB mentioned that we would be watching two episodes of Rome I have to admitted I was a little excited. I had never actually seen the episodes but have heard about the series.  I much rather watch a movie based off of something then to read the book first. Although Rome is a British-American-Italian historical drama television series and does not have a book published, it all ties together with what we've been discussing in class. Before watching the two episodes I read the facts about the show itself and I find it amazing, in order to re-in act history it took 750 actors and extras for the Caesar's Triumph" scene.

I knew before watching Rome I was aware that the series was based on history and drama surrounding violent transformation of Roman Republic made into Roman Empire. I feel like this series portrays higher contact of sexual activities then we have heard about in the books and readings that we have read thus far. These series showed what happened back in the day, who's to say this is how it was? The book portrayed something different, but don't all books when kind of telling the same story.

Brutus is team Caesar, he even says that Caesar has wisdom and mercy he pledges loyalty to him and urges others to do the same.  Caesar demands that whoever was against him and wanted him dead needs to join him and others in creating new Rome. While watching I noticed there were banners, wash statues and bird cases. They made a big deal of the preparation for the Triumph. I was shocked when Antony had Caesars back and didn't go run and hide when others wanted him dead. You also could definitely tell Antony definitely loved women in Rome. When watching these episodes you can actually see the different personalities from each individual not what someone else is portraying in writing. When watching this movie it was interesting to see the other members of the crew interact with the main characters we have talked about.

These episodes kinda make me want to watch Rome from the beginning to really get all the details of modern history of Rome.

Social Media

I enjoy social media, Facebook and Instagram are my two sources. I enjoy looking at pictures and seeing all the different things people post. I have always enjoyed picture book so now we have electric picture books of our own friends and family's lives. Pictures tells a 1000 words as for Facebook can be about thoughts and events that has happened in people's lives. I know this might be crazy but I like telling people about my life and how fantastic it is but also the bad, it's just reality. I like reading about people's lives and their thoughts on something. I am a nosey person that just wants to know what others are doing and when I'm struggling to know I'm not alone. I feel like it can be a big electric book that isn't published for money. When I look on social media or receive a text sometimes makes me realize how much I miss being young, actually getting to know people by voice (speaking). Back in the day the only thing you could do on your phone is talk and text. I remember life without social media and I don't think my space affect people's lives as much as Facebook and Instagram has. I will admit I will on social media everyday because I get bored and it's just something to do. It's sad when I watch the news or hear from someone that social media has contribute to a teen suicided. Others life and words should not be that powerful that you allow yourself to become addicted to social media and what people think.
Paper copy of a book is nice so you can highlight but sometimes a electric copy is just easier to read. It's more compact and I can use my phone which I have all the time. If I knew all the ins and outs on apps when it comes to electric use I may be more likely to use electric more. I use my iPad or laptop to type papers and do research using Google. I use my phone to text people and check my Facebook and Instagram, other than that I don't have apps on my phone. I use to have an older phone because I didn't think phones where that important minus communication with friends and family. Now you can do so much more when it comes to social media and apps.
I've played video games but never became addicted. Sometimes that's a hobby that people have and that's fine, it's a better hobby then doing drugs or something illegal. I'm not one to judge someone for enjoying something that they like to do. I personal think playing videos games in pointless and then the end you get something out of it, you die.

Richard III

When reading this novel “The Daughter of Time” I thought it wasn’t going to be interesting and relate to my life at all but in fact I was wrong. After reading the first couple chapters I started to picture myself in this book, I work in a hospital and often wonder what people do and think when they are sick, they read books but what do they read about? In this book he clearly reads about history and one person killing another, the author makes it all seem so real but the real question is how do we know this to be true. Just because one told us this is what happened. Another thing that got me thinking is when Grant asked Midget “what do you want to look at that face for? Who was he anyway” He didn’t know who he was looking at and made such a bold statement, many people in society told look at someone and make a comment without knowing that person. Sometimes they just say something that’s not nice or make a comment based off of what they heard from someone else. Just like Grant did about Richard III. It’s just amazing how a book based off of many years ago can still relate to people today and how they act and what they think. With this book to be a start to think class I’m interested to see what we read next. Based on this book history are events that are believed to have taken place and talked about many years later.

Everyone stay safe in the snow, could you imagine what Richard III would do if he would get this much snow?
